Consumer health data policy

This policy covers consumer health data, as Washington and Nevada law define it, that Coverage Decider handles. Coverage Decider is run by OppKo LLC, 30 N Gould St, Sheridan, WY 82801, hello@oppko.com.

What we handle, and where

• Only in your browser: pregnancy, disability, care history (visits, prescriptions filled) and tobacco use. The calculator uses them on your device to estimate costs. We don't receive them.
• Sent to us: doctors and drugs you look up. The names you type (with your ZIP code for doctors) and the IDs of the ones you pick go to CMS's Marketplace API, with your county's plan IDs, to check which plans cover them. We don't keep them.
• If you email yourself your results: a summary with your coverage type, estimated credit and plan names, sent through Resend right away. We don't keep it.

We get this data only from you.

Why

Only to give you the estimate and plan comparison you asked for, and to send the emails you ask for.

Who receives it

Cloudflare (hosting), CMS (coverage checks: search words, ZIP code, and doctor and drug IDs) and Resend (email delivery, if you ask). We never sell consumer health data or use it for advertising.

Your rights

Ask us to confirm whether we hold any of your consumer health data, see it, delete it, or withdraw consent: hello@oppko.com. We answer within 45 days. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; we answer appeals within 45 days, and if we deny yours you can contact your state attorney general. "Clear my answers" deletes what's saved in your browser.

Changes

We post changes here with a new effective date.
